Don´t Judge the Book by its cover, Litteraturhuset, Oslo
Curated by Edy Poppy
First set up in Gartenstudio in Berlin, the exhibition travelled on to Oslo.
My author friend Edy Poppy invited some of her artist friends to design a new approach to the cover of her debut novel. This resulted in a exhibition in Berlin and is a protest to her German publishers, who changed the book completely when they distributed it under her real name, in the category "erotischer novellen" and with a picture that was not approved by the author.

In my interpretation of the cover I have replaced the character on the front page of the original book cover with the Disney character Bambi, the little white-tailed deer that has to go trough some challenges as he grows up. The young deer hailed as the 'Prince of the Forest' at his birth grows, makes friends with the other animals of the forest, learns the skills needed to survive, and even finds love. But he also finds himself lost out on the slipperey ice.
